Steve Guillory Sr. is tied into yet another “synchronicity” story.  I’d been hearing about “Mr. G” for months.  Bluesy is good friends with is son and he kept talking about this guy that used to play for Barry White and others.  The day finally came when Steve came over.  We jammed out a few ideas, one of which became Josh Moreland‘s “Give Me Joy.”  In talking to Steve, it turned out that he’d known Darryl “Duffy” Glenn for years as well as Fitz Magee and others we knew.  The Soul Food Mix was around the corner and we needed a guitar player to play in Darryl’s band.  Couldn’t have worked out better.
